Schlam is looking for a HSEQ Manager to join our team as we embark on a journey of growth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this full-time permanent role is a key position in our Manufacturing division to enable development and promotion of a safe working culture and maintaining a high quality of products for our customers.
**In this role, your responsibilities include;**
- Champion the continuous improvement of our HSEQ systems, practices and culture
- Injury and return to work management
- Workers’ compensation claims management
- Assist with accident/incident investigations
- Facilitate incident/non-conformance investigations within the organisation and provide advice and support to Managers and Supervisors in investigation techniques
- Develop and generate routine reports for HSEQ KPI’s to monitor the effectiveness of employee and organisational outputs
- Execute a Training Needs Analysis to identify and develop training programs to support the company’s objectives
- Provide mentoring and advice to improve HSEQ behaviour through observation, monitoring, reporting, and coaching
- Site travel and active involvement within the various local Workplaces (Waroona, Forrestfield and Welshpool)
- Develop and monitor the Group HSE Risk Register to ensure systematic controls are effective and the organisation is managing its high-risk activities
- Monitor compliance with State and Commonwealth Acts and Regulations, Codes of Practice, International and Australian Standards, industry best practice and customer requirements

**What you need for this role**:
Essential
- 3+ years’ experience in a HSEQ leadership role
- Sound working knowledge of HSEQ, principles, practices, and legislation
- Heavy Manufacturing or maintenance experience
- Qualifications in a safety related discipline
- Qualified lead or internal auditor
- Certificate IV in Training and assessment
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and principles
- Australian "C" class drivers’ licence

Desirable
- CAM/Taproot certification
- Strong understanding and experience in ISO 9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001 requirements
