Contract Mentor - Flexible Hours

We are seeking a passionate and reliable Mentor to work with young people on a contract basis. This role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adolescents who require positive role models and support.

About the Role

As a Mentor, you will provide one-on-one support to young people, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and engage in positive activities. You will work with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, including those who have experienced trauma, have additional needs, or require extra support in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide regular mentoring sessions (typically weekly or fortnightly).

Engage young people in activities that support their personal development and well-being.

Build a trusting and positive relationship to encourage growth and resilience.

Maintain professional boundaries while providing a safe and supportive environment.

Complete brief session reports to track progress and engagement.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting young people.

Reliable, patient, and a strong role model.

Able to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Trauma-informed or willing to undergo relevant training.

Able to work independently while organisational guidelines.

**Requirements**:
Experience working with children and young people (mentoring, youth work, social work, or related fields).

Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one).

Current Drivers License and reliable vehicle.

ABN (as this is a contract position).

First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain).

**Job Types**: Subcontract, Casual

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Youth work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
