**Your New Role**

Do you come from a Defence background? Do you have a passion for training & development? Then read on

You will be involved in training development, coordination, delivery, project management and artefact creation and review. You will have exceptional training development & delivery skills, you will be able to work in a team environment, producing customer based training material. The Training Lead is responsible for managing and executing all training requirements for our system in accordance with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL).

The Training Lead will assess the needs of the SharePoint19 training and development plans; to create and facilitate a wide variety of training programs that enhance the effectiveness of the Australian Defence workforce for our systems.

Specific functions and responsibilities include:

- Assess the training needs of the organisation through job analysis, training design and consultation.
- Evaluate existing training and collaborate to develop training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes
- Design and develop training material that targets tangible results with of face to face training to Defence Users
- Create and conduct trial courses for newly developed training solutions
- Implement effective and purposeful training methods, whilst meeting Defence’s training needs.
- Maintain all training documentation, including Learning Management Programs, processes and procedures
- Evaluate organisational performance to ensure training is meeting business needs and improving performance
- Effectively communicate with team members, management and stakeholders
- Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to manage and deliver training
- Keep abreast of training needs, developments and best practices.

**Qualifications**:
**About You and What You'll Bring**

An NV2 level security clearance. Holds as a minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)

**Skills**

Your personal and professional attributes will include strong and proven problem solving and organisational skills, together with an appreciation of the importance of technical regulation and governance. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to coach and mentor others to further the professional development of the team.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong track record in developing and executing successful training programs
- Critical thinker with innovative problem solving skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools
- Familiar with traditional and modern training processes
- Effective organisation and time management skills
- Strategic and creative mindset
- High attention to detail.

**Experience**

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives. You will also have:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in training and development management
- Current or very recent experience using an eLearning authoring tool, such as Adobe Captivate
- Current or very recent experience managing technology-based Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Possess a detailed working knowledge and proven experience designing training using the ADDIE methodology; ideally possessing knowledge and experience designing training using the ADF SADL.
- Ideally possess knowledge and experience from within the Defence training environment.
