**The Role**
The ALS Minerals Division in Perth is seeking an individual to fulfil the role of
**Business Development Officer**.
The role could be based at either our Wangara (North) or Canning Vale (South) locations.
Working with the Business Development team, the Business Development Officer will provide high-quality service to our clients by providing technical solutions to their assay requirements, including method selection advice, complementary technical services and digital solutions for exploration data management.
The Business Development Officer will also promote the ALS brand and range of services to the Mining and Exploration Industry through participation in various industry events, including some that may require regional or interstate travel regularly.
We seek a professional with a background in laboratory, geology, or chemistry and related scientific disciplines, ideally with experience in a client-facing role, to join our team. This person will be a self-starter who can learn the business services from the ground up and actively seek to further their knowledge of the Minerals Analysis Industry.
**The Day to Day**
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing clients
- Provision of advice regarding technical solutions available from ALS to assist clients in planning their exploration and mining activities with reliable assay data
- Development and issuance of quotations and tender submissions for technical and analytical services to current and potential clients of ALS
- Actively participating in the Mining and Exploration industry, representing ALS at various industry events and functions and building a solid network of industry contacts
- Promoting the ALS brand and range of services with the highest professional standards
**About You**
Mandatory prerequisites:
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry/Geology/Environmental or equivalent)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service focus with proven management of client outcomes
- Professional phone manner
- Professional and proactive attitude
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast past work environment
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Experience in addressing client needs in a technical field
- A commitment to providing a high level of service to clients, including timely responses
- Experience in Minerals laboratories preferred but not essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams
