$106,094 - $113,913 (G07) per annum, plus 17% superannuation
- Full time, 18-month fixed term contract
- Based at our vibrant Curtin Bentley campus
**Job Reference**:995217**
**About the Role**:
Curtin is excited to launch The Living Room This is a brand-new, peer-led mental health and wellbeing initiative designed by students, for students. As The Living Room Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in shaping this innovative support model from the ground up.
This position is your opportunity to co-create a unique Curtin experience that blends warm, welcoming drop-in support with best-practice mental health and wellbeing principles. You’ll oversee the day-to-day delivery of the space - an inclusive environment where students can drop in, have a chat, and connect with trained peer support workers about general wellbeing or mental health concerns.
Reporting to the Head of Counselling, Wellbeing and AccessAbility, you’ll lead the development and coordination of peer training programs, provide clinical oversight and guidance to peer supporters, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the service aligns with Curtin’s strategic wellbeing goals.
As a completely new initiative, this is a rare opportunity to make the role your own. You’ll be working with passionate, motivated students in a work-integrated learning setting where they contribute as true partners in support delivery.
If you’re driven to innovate, collaborate, and foster meaningful change in student wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of The Living Room, ensuring high-quality, student-centred service delivery in collaboration with the Head of Counselling, AccessAbility and Wellbeing Services.
- Design and deliver evidence-based training and onboarding programs for Peer Support Workers, while embedding systems for continuous feedback, evaluation and service improvement.
- Provide ongoing clinical supervision, debriefing and professional support to Peer Support Workers to ensure a safe and supportive environment for both staff and students.
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk management and safety planning, and coordinating referrals to appropriate internal and external support services for students facing a wide range of psycho-social challenges, including mental illness, psychological distress, disability, acculturation, and adjustment difficulties.
**We are looking for (selection criteria)**:
- A relevant degree in a health discipline (e.g., Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy), along with substantial relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience,
- A current, unrestricted registration with a relevant professional body such as AHPRA or AASW.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate mental health and wellbeing service delivery, with clinical expertise in risk assessment, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering health promotion and wellbeing programs, including skills development training, supported by strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and produce high-quality documentation and reports.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated understanding of the distinct mental health challenges faced by university students (desired).

- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
