The City of Melville has an exciting opportunity in our Environmental Health team, for a motivated and talented individual who is keen to support the strategic objectives of the City through the provision and maintenance of Health Services programs and initiatives**.**
**As our Environmental Health Officer reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Health Services, you’ll be responsible for but not limited to**
- Conducting routine risk assessments and monitoring of health premises activities for public health and safety.
- Investigating customer service requests in relation to environmental health issues.
- Providing advice, information and interpretation of legislation on environmental health related matters.
- Work with marketing in promoting environmental health initiatives and education programs.
**Skills and Experience Required**:
- Sound knowledge and understanding of health legislation.
- Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to provide a high level of customer service.
- Ability to provide clear technical advice.
- Sound time management, organisational, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in the field of Environmental/ Public Health.
- Experience in the undertaking environmental health risk assessments.
- Mosquito Management experience is desirable.
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer.
- Appointment as Authorised Person and Inspector (Noise) under the Environmental Protection Act or eligibility for such appointment.
