Pegasus Care is excited to announce a new Supported Independent Living project in the Newcastle Area and we are looking at recruiting Disability Support staff to work with us who have a range of skills willing to work in a variety of settings to utilise and build on their specific skill base.

We are looking for Casual Disability Support Workers to provide support to children or adults with Complex Trauma and Psychosocial Disabilities across a variety of settings. Experience with Children in OOHC would be highly regarded.

The role requires staff to be available to work a 24/7 roster which will include weekend and public holidays. To ensure the smooth running of the Service, staff will need to commit to a minimum of 30hpw.

We are looking for committed people who are willing to provide residential support, as well as support to access the wider community. You should also be willing to assist with skill development and to help ensure each client meets his/her goals within a Person-Centred framework.

To be successful, you will need well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a Team as well as family members, you will need good communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to follow the routines and protocols in the setting in which you work.

Training will be provided as required.

**DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER (Casual)**

- NDIS Worker Clearance Certificate.
- Completed NDIS Worker Induction Module - Quality, Safety & You
- Infection Control Training - COVID-19 Certificate
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- NSW Drivers License, a Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
- Provide evidence of vehicle registration
- 100 points of ID
- The right to work in Australia

**Highly Regarded**:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability Work (or similar)
- Previous sector experience
- Behavior support/Challenging Behaviors
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
- Dual Diagnosis
- Experience in the provision of personal care
- Manual Handling
- Provision of Community Access.
- Implementation of Individual Goals, Plans, Routines
