**About the Role**:
As the Principal Advisor, you will report to the Manager, Operations and provide support to the governance and operational functions to develop, monitor and implement OIR's Health Safety Wellbeing Management System within OIR's business operations.
You will work with limited supervision to lead and support continual improvement activities to ensure compliance of the OIR HSW Management System.
Key Responsibilities are outlined in the role description and include:

- project management
- supporting implementation of the OIR HSW Management System
- analysing safety system performance, legislative compliance and due diligence
- supporting design and implementation of health and safety management plans
- representing the OIR with a particular focus on the implementation of health and safety requirements.

**About the Team**:
The Organisational Safety team is part of the Organisational Culture and Safety unit that leads strategic programs aligned to the Public Sector Commission outcomes for health and safety and inclusive workplaces.
**The Organisational Safety team is accountable for**:

- Establishing and maintaining a contemporary health, safety and wellbeing management system incorporating governance, strategy, policies and procedures.
- Building manager and employee capability in work health and safety requirements.
- Partnering with business units to support effective hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation.
- Promoting awareness of health and safety hazards and supporting the identification and implementation of effective control measures.
- Co-ordinating and facilitating pro-active engagement and with our health and safety representatives (HSR's).
