**About the Role**
Reporting to the Team Leader, Selection and Scholarships, the Scholarships and Awards Coordinator (Compliance Lead) has responsibility for administering the Faculty of Science’s student awards and scholarships funded through philanthropic income. This includes coordinating submission of proposals to Academic Board for new and changing awards, committee support, and the provision of expert advice to staff and prospective applicants on the Faculty’s student awards and scholarships.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the submission of proposals to Academic Board for establishment of Faculty Student Awards and changes to existing Student Awards
- Contributing to the development of comprehensive gift implementation and stewardship plans to ensure that all philanthropic funding that is received can be implemented in accordance with the gift governance record
- Reviewing Faculty awards trust accounts and making recommendations on award expenditure and income capitalisation
- Managing and reporting on Faculty gifts, including coordinating activity with senior stakeholders in Advancement and Finance Services
**About You**
You will have strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build, establish and maintain effective working relationships, with multiple stakeholders within in a large and complex organisation. You will also have outstanding communication skills that will allow you to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. You will bring your high level organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage a variety of tasks and competing deadlines; to work proactively, plan ahead, adapt to new situations, and deliver positive, innovative solutions to operational issues.
You will also have:
- A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgement in problem-solving and make complex decisions with the ability to deliver creative solutions and negotiate outcomes
- Extensive database management experience and conceptual and analytical skills to compile, analyse and manipulate data to develop recommendations and reports
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with and provide clear, professional and accurate information to academic and professional staff, students and external stakeholders
