**Overview**: This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a new and exciting division for one of Australia’s largest independent development studios, PlaySide Studios. After 10yrs of building an incredibly successful studio business, with a catalog of high-quality 1st Party IP and 3rd Party projects, PlaySide is now forming a PC and Console Publishing Division to bring to market in-house developed 1st Party IP, as well as working with external development teams in a full publishing capacity. The Head of Game Scouting will be responsible for driving our developer network outreach and creating an incoming pipeline of games for potential publishing partnerships. We are looking for an experienced, driven and focused leader to make this role their own and help shape and implement key functions of the department including robust processes and content strategy in our newly formed Publishing Division. **Key Responsibilities**: - Source a pipeline of high-quality potential game content for PlaySide to publish in line with our content strategy. - Be a developer-facing figurehead for PlaySide, exhausting all available avenues to source the best possible content for PlaySide Publishing; including Trade shows/events, desk research, and importantly your own established developer network. - Leading principled contract negotiations to establish mutually beneficial agreements for PlaySide and our developer partners. - Manage the pipeline of content through effective tools and processes. - Establish and manage workflows to review and progress game content through the Greenlight process. - Create solid foundations with a view to growing and leading an exceptional department. **What You Bring To The Role**: - Extensive established network of development teams, platform partners & Industry events. - Significant experience in partnership management and business development roles. Including lead generation and tracking, and deal closure. - A strong understanding of game development practices, production budgets, and milestone schedules. - A deep understanding of the games market including commercial awareness of high-performing content/genres, as well as knowledge of recent trends in gameplay mechanics and hooks. - Excellent interpersonal and presenting skills. - Superior influencing skills, coupled with the ability to develop deep, trust-based relationships. **What we offer here at PlaySide**: - Fully remote position - ideally suited to a BST or CET time zone. - 5% pension - Playdays - an additional 5 paid days off per year to do something you love. - Industry-leading Parental Leave benefits - Employee Assistance Program to support mental wellbeing - Mentoring.
