- Duties of the Role Include:
The full time role of Principal Planner (Active Transport) will be responsible for two significant projects/ areas of work:
1. Project managing key actions in the Queensland Cycling Action Plan including active transport network planning, area and corridor studies.

2. Managing and evaluating a trial of automatic permanent active transport counting units with real time data display at two locations in Brisbane and further expansion throughout Queensland.

Role Specification

Specific role requirements for the two projects/ areas of work are as follows.

1. Project managing significant Queensland Cycling Action Plan network planning related actions

The Principal Planner (Active Transport) role will include project management or support of projects of the following type:

- Elements of a major project to update the Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan and Priority Route Maps.
- Area and corridor studies to inform active transport planning and infrastructure works pipeline development.
- Innovative projects to accelerate active transport network delivery in partnership with local governments.

2. Managing and evaluating a trial of automatic permanent active transport counting units with real time data display

The Principal Planner (Active Transport) role will include:
(This will comprise up to half of the role for approximately 6 months, decreasing after that)

A degree or equivalent experience in transport planning and/or project management for similar types of technical and active transport planning projects would be an advantage.

Evaluation Criteria;
- Demonstrated skills in active transport planning, project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in the project management and delivery of active transport planning or other relevant projects.
- Experience in the procurement and management of contractors.
- Familiarity with the Qld Cycle Strategy 2017-2027
