About the role
LXRP are on the hunt for passionate planner interested in collaborating with industry experts on one of Victoria's largest rail projects. Reporting into the Senior Planning and Environment Specialist, the Planning and Environment Specialist will provide expertise to the organisation around planning and environmental issues impacting the delivery of our projects.
As a Planning & Environment Specialist you will be responsible for providing advice, whilst also working closely and building strong relationships with a range of government departments and industry stakeholders such as - the Department of Transport/VicRoads, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Heritage Victoria, EPA and more.

**On any given day you might find yourself**:

- Liaising with our project teams, as well as our communications team on planning and environmental issues/risks.
- Responding to statutory referrals from other authorities and councils.
- Developing, building, and maintaining strong relationships with a range of different stakeholders.

The Planning and Environment Specialist roles are 3-year fixed term positions, paying a salary between $103,920 and $125,735 + superannuation. Whilst the role is based in our Southern Program Alliance, located at Moorabbin, we envision a weekly blend of office and remote working for this position.

About you
Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian planning and approvals process and legislation relevant to the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects will put you on a good platform for success in this role. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential to this role as you liaise and navigate complex planning and environment issues with a wide range of internal and external clients.

**We'd also love if you have**:

- Demonstrated experience in preparing planning, heritage, and environmental approvals documentation.
- Strong knowledge of priorities, policies and processes at all levels of government.
- The ability to communicate effectively and influence outcomes - you will be collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, environmental management or a similar discipline is beneficial to the role but not mandatory.
