Melbourne, Australia Level Crossing Removal Project Full time

About the role
Our Southern Program team are on the lookout for a passionate planner eager to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to transformative projects throughout Melbourne, working on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Victoria's history.
Reporting into the Senior Planning and Environment Specialist and working in a small team, the Planning and Environment Adviser will provide technical advice to the organisation around planning and environmental issues impacting the delivery of our Southern Program Alliance projects. You will get the opportunity to work closely with industry experts and build strong relationships with a range of government departments and stakeholders. In this role, you will get valuable exposure to how the planning and environment discipline works with the construction industry to deliver major transport infrastructure projects.
Whilst no one day or project is exactly the same, some of your core accountabilities will include:

- Liaising with our project teams, including our communications and land and property teams, to identify and manage planning and environmental issues and risks.
- Undertaking research and analysis to support the preparation of technical reports, such as planning, heritage and environmental analysis.
- Developing relationships and collaborating with external stakeholders, including the Department of Transport/VicRoads, the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Heritage Victoria, EPA and more.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience in a major infrastructure project environment and provides an opportunity for an engaged and motivated planner to manage challenging issues in a small and supportive team.
This is a 3-year fixed term position, paying a salary between $90,067 - $102,192 + superannuation. The role is based within our Southern Program Alliance, located in Moorabbin. LXRP supports flexible and remote working options, with a hybrid working arrangement (weekly blend of office and remote working) envisioned for this role.

About you
The team are also interested in someone with strong project management skills. Being able to function in a fast-paced environment, produce quality material and solve problems in a practical way will set you up for success in this role.

**We'd also love if you have**:

- Exposure to preparing planning, heritage, and environmental approvals documentation.
- An understanding of priorities, policies and processes at all levels of government.
- The ability to communicate effectively and influence outcomes - you will be collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in planning, environmental management or a similar discipline is beneficial to the role but not mandatory.
