**Key task and responsibilities**:
Responsible for maintaining and repairing hire and sale welders by:
- Calibrating customer and hire welders to specifications in a timely manner.
- Maintaining and repairing customer and hire welders and scrapers to eliminate return of faulty welders.
- Taking necessary measures to prepare welders for sale, ensuring they are in a condition suitable for selling.
- Performing testing and tagging to customer and hire welders as required.
- Liaising with other departments regarding welding equipment condition and progress of repairs.
- Interacting with customers to collect their feedback on the service level of the department and informing the Projects Manager accordingly.
**To be considered you must meet the following criteria**:
- Require the ability to read and understand technical equipment specifications, operating manuals, work orders, and communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Hands on mechanical experience.
- Previous experience working on butt or electrofusion welders is desirable.
- Trade certificate in mechanical fitting or similar.
- Ability to communicate and work with a broad range of people from varying backgrounds
- High attention, accuracy and excellent organisation, and time management skills
- Initiative-taking and a positive 'can do' attitude
