About the role

You will be joining a small team of experienced Technician's that monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, replace, rebuild, and repair both automated and manual sample preparation equipment. The equipment includes, but not limited to, manual LM5 and LM2 pulverizes, jaw crushers, CRB crushers and robotic systems. Other plant equipment includes dedusting systems, compressors, wastewater treatment as well as laboratory equipment including fusion machines and TGA's.

Duties

The successful applicant will assist the team with primary responsibilities of the role to include:

  • Carry out daily preventative maintenance tasks on all the equipment listed in About the Role section

  • This includes equipment checklists, like checking safety interlocks, greasing bearings, checking belt tensions, recording bearing temperatures, cleaning equipment, changing out crusher wear plates, replacing milling grinding bowls etc

  • Troubleshooting and fault finding of both manual and automated equipment, these faults could be mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and more.
  • Strip, assess and report findings on failed equipment.
  • Rebuild failed equipment using mechanical and electrical schematics

  • Mill rebuilds consisting of eccentric mass, bearings, seals, pulleys, shafts etc

  • Crusher rebuilds consisting of multiple eccentric shafts, bearings, seals, as well as wear and cheek plates
  • Automated cell equipment, including sensors, switches, PLCs, motors, pneumatic components and more
  • Be able to travel to various remote laboratory sites to repair breakdowns of equipment and systems, help commission and decommission project sites and more.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

The position would ideally suit someone with:

  • WA Restricted electrical license
  • Forklift License
  • High level of mechanical knowledge and proven experience are essential.

  • Machine strip and rebuild.

  • Problem solving mechanical faults.
  • Fitting and replacing heavy bowls and crusher plates
  • Understand and interpret pneumatics, engineering drawings and equipment schematics to a high-level.
  • Ability to work in a team and work autonomously.
  • Have great communication skills.
  • Previously working with any equipment listed in this advert would be beneficial.
  • Motivated self-starter.
