About the Role

Downer is seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters to join our Maddington team. This hybrid role involves both workshop maintenance and field service, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery, trucks, and equipment. Ideal for those who enjoy variety, hands-on problem solving, and working in a fast-paced environment that rewards you for your time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, repair, and maintain heavy plant machinery and trucks
  • Provide breakdown support and fault diagnostics in the field
  • Ensure all work meets Downer's safety and operational standards
  • Collaborate with a skilled team while also working independently
What You'll Bring
  • Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)
  • Strong hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding skills
  • Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment such as loaders, pavers, skid steers, rollers & stabilisers
  • Auto electrical experience (highly regarded)
  • HR and Forklift licences (desirable)
  • Proactive attitude and commitment to safety
