Seeking an experienced Project Officer to support a Project Management team in State Government

**Your new company**

A major State Government department based closely to Perth CBD, is seeking an experienced Project Officer to support and manage business services of the Project Management team. You will be required to work full-time hours, and will initially be engaged on a temporary contract for 6-months. Ideally you will be able to commence with this team immediately, and will be paid on a competitive hourly rate.

**Your new role**

As the Project Officer you will be responsible for overseeing business administration within the Project Management team. Your duties will include:

- Provide portfolio management support to the wider team, managing small projects as required
- Support with the implementation of new systems
- Oversee procurement and purchasing tasks including contract administration, quotation processes, credit card reconciliation and basis procurement activities
- Take on any administrative tasks as required to support the wider team

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role, you will demonstrate previous experience within a similar Project / Business Services role, ideally within a Government department. In addition, you will display:

- Experience in providing administrative support to a project
- Experience handling contract administration and basic procurement tasks would be an advantage
- Strong IT skills with competence using MS Office Suites
- Advanced communication skills with confidence in customer service
- The ability to demonstrate initiative and work autonomously

**What you'll get in return**

In return, you will be engaged on an initial temporary basis for 6-months, with an opportunity of extension offered should all go well. You will be required to work full-time hours Monday to Friday (between 7.30am to 5pm), and will be paid on a competitive hourly rate. This department is based centrally to public transport options, as well as nearby paid parking facilities.
