Sydney, Australia ESL Gaming GmbH Full time

ESL Australia is growing and we’re looking for an account manager that’s passionate about a career in gaming and esports. You’ll be responsible for managing and growing our diverse portfolio of our clients. This is a full-time contract role within the Asia Pacific Japan branch of the world’s largest esports company.

This position is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who's passionate about the exciting and dynamic world of Esports and Gaming in the Oceania region.

ESL collaborates with top-notch renown brands and game publishers to organise, plan and run large scale events online and offline globally.

Join us in our mission to **Create a World where Everybody can be Somebody**.

**The Role**

As our account manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing our base of existing clients. Many of these are long term clients, and you’ll be responsible for continuing to cultivate long lasting, strategic partnerships with them.

You’ll form a key part of our commercial team and act as a bridge between your clients, and our internal teams that execute their work with us.

The role suits someone with exceptional time management and organizational skills. Planning out everything that needs to be done for your clients, and managing those timelines will be a big part of your role. As any experienced account manager will know, problem solving abilities will be important for when things don’t go as planned.

In addition to managing your clients, you’ll be responsible for growing their accounts, and will both proactively and reactively manage sales processes.

Your clients will range from the game developers/publishers, to gaming hardware brands, consumer brands, and lastly exhibitors at our events. This work will see you work across both our own brands, ANZ Champs, The League of Legends Circuit Oceania, and Dreamhack Melbourne, as well as key events like PAX Australia.

If you know esports, you likely know you need to be comfortable working in a start-up style role. We have fun, but work in a fast paced environment where we have to get our hands dirty, and make the most of limited resources.

Core Responsibilities
- Account management and relationship management
- Managing sales processes and growing a client portfolio
- Coordinating with internal departments
- Reviewing work done on client accounts, including creative reviews
- Oversee measurement and client reporting
- Managing stakeholders and product owners

What you’ll do
- Develop and communicate publisher and developer strategy and concepts, educating and advocating across ESL about key industry trends and developments relevant to our business
- Act as key point of contact with game publishers, building and maintaining strategic relationships, working to define and execute long-term, mutually beneficial business partnerships
- Negotiate publisher deals, MSAs and contracts; this includes overseeing the creation of budgets and project plans for publisher and developer partnerships allowing you to own these partnerships from start to finish
- Work with internal departments, such as marketing, tournament management, broadcast, and event production, to execute our publisher activations and strategies
- Showcase your creative talents by creating new concepts and programs around ESL offerings and pitching them to publishers
- Keep up to date on industry trends and relevant changes within the esports world

**Requirements**:

- At least 3 years of experience working within account management or business development, preferably in gaming
- A big plus is if you have extensive knowledge of the esports industry and the different competitive ecosystems that exist for the biggest competitive games on the market.
- Proven ability to manage and grow a client portfolio
- Proven ability to be calm under pressure and good at problem solving
- Experience of managing the core responsibilities listed above
- Experience working with graphics/video creatives and creative processes
- Strong presentation preparation skills and proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office products
- Passionate about gaming and esports
- Positive; adaptable; hard-working; and go the extra mile

**The Company**

ESL is the world's largest esports company. For more than two decades, we’ve been creating esports spectacles, including products like the Intel Extreme Masters; Dreamhack; ESL One; and the ESL Pro Tour. We’re behind Oceania’s biggest esports tournaments and events including Dreamhack Melbourne; ESL ANZ Champs; League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) and more.

At ESL Australia, you’ll be surrounded by the most talented esports professionals in Oceania, as we not only bring gaming and esports products to life, but plan and create new experiences to define what esports in Oceania will become.

**How to apply**

You must be permitted to legally work in Australia - an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian Permanent Residency Visa.
