**Position Information**:
Yeo Park Infants School was established in 1929 and is located in Ashfield within the vast and shared community space of Yeo Park. The school caters for the learning of 58 students within three classes from Kindergarten to Year Two. The strength in the relationship within the school and community is celebrated and the school is committed to fostering and valuing productive school, community and global partnerships. The school motto is _Learning and Growing Together_ and links to both staff and students striving to become lifelong learners.
Yeo Park Infants School has the unique capacity to focus on early childhood quality education. The school embraces the diversity of each student and strives to ensure the development of the whole child through excellence in participation and learning. There is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy to ensure success for all students in the current school improvement plan with an emphasis on developing explicit reading and comprehension skills. The school offers highly specialised music and sport programs with students participating in these lessons each week.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and or/ primary. Demonstrated instructional leadership that balances clear accountability and support to drive evidence-based practices that empower teachers to significantly improve students’ literacy and numeracy skills. Exceptional capacity to foster distributive leadership, build strong teams and implement initiatives, with a focus on collaborative practice for whole school improvement. A highly visible leader with excellent communication and advocacy skills and demonstrated ability to genuinely engage with students, staff, parents and the wider school community. Proven success in overseeing successful student transition, with a demonstrated ability to develop and foster quality wellbeing initiatives, that ensure continuity of learning for all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
