**Position Information**:
Kamay Botany Bay Environmental Education Centre strives to ensure that all students attending our programs are engaged and challenged by Environmental Education Centre staff imparting deep, authentic content knowledge and experiences. Our programs aim to excite curiosity, stimulate appreciation of nature and history, and inspire a passion to drive change. Education programs support the implementation of the NSW curriculum to improve student learning outcomes, placing an emphasis on the cross-curriculum priority areas of _Sustainability_ and _Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture_. Our staff members achieve this through the provision of high-quality fieldwork, environmental, and sustainability educational programs for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. These experiences take place at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Towra Reserve, and other field study locations in and around the Kurnell/Cronulla area.
The success of our school is built on a culture of collaboration with the following partners: Environmental and Zoo Education Centres (EZEC), National Parks and Wildlife Service, members of the local Aboriginal community, local AECG, schools and the wider community.
Kamay Botany Bay Environmental Education Centre is currently situated in the grounds of Kurnell Public School. Kamay Botany Bay National Park sits on the lands of the Gweagal clan.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
Capacity to bring about sustainable educational change to enhance the learning outcomes of all students and staff through strong collaboration, effective communication and consultative practices.
A highly visible, approachable leader who demonstrates outstanding management and leadership skills, and the ability to articulate and implement strategic directions that are future focused and research-based.
Demonstrated ability to implement department policies to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for students, staff and the wider community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
