**The Client**

Specialising in the Accident & Health Insurance space, our client is seeking an ambitious and organised Underwriter to join their team. Based in the heart of the Sydney CBD, the company believes in more than just providing insurance.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Regional Underwriter Manager, you will have the perfect balance of autonomy and support to truly step into your strengths as an insurance professional.
- Contribute to the company’s distribution strategy for brokers across the State and the Region
- Work closely with State Underwriters and Underwriting Managers to deliver co-ordinated distribution strategy
- Underwrite risks within Delegated Underwriting Authority and within agreed service levels
- Develop and maintain a mid-market opportunity pipeline for a panel of brokers
- Achieve targets for new business growth and renewal retention via mid-market brokers as agreed
- Attendance at networking events, conference participation, and Broker/Industry functions
- Responsibility for quoting and processing allocated portfolio of Broker Contacts
- Opportunities to grow the portfolio in conjunction with Market Facing Underwriters

**Skills and expertise**
- Underwriting industry experience of minimum 2 years
- General Insurance underwriting or business development experience
- Sales orientated with the ability to work in a high paced environment
- High level of presentability, communication, and time management skills
- Rapport and relationship building both within the company and with brokers
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity
- Tier 1 in General Insurance or eager to complete
