**About the Role**

Review and analyse the underwriting risk and exposure for a portfolio of medium & large customers, across the policy life cycle, and recommend management strategies to support the ongoing viability of the Scheme

**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as an Underwriter you will:

- Review and analyse the underwriting risk and exposure for a portfolio of medium & large customers, across the policy life cycle, and recommend management strategies to support the ongoing viability of the Scheme.
- Provide advice and guidance to Workers Insurance leaders from a loss prevention perspective to support Scheme viability.
- Analyse Scheme information to ensure premium adequacy and accuracy, and that premiums are adjusted to reflect emerging trends in claims experience.
- Provide a high quality customer experience for both internal and external customers.
- Liaise and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support improved understanding of Scheme arrangements.
- Prepare and collate data from a range of sources to generate reports on Scheme performance and to provide the basis for recommendations and commentary to management.
- Support the process of internal audit to ensure that any performance issues are promptly identified and addressed.
- Support the development and implementation of initiatives to market the services of the Underwriting team to ensure that they are well understood by the business and customers.

**Skills & Experience**
- A combination of Underwriting or Insurance experience in banking and finance industry in a customer service capacity
- Underwriting experience in workers compensation would be preferred
- Exceptional communication skills
- Legislation knowledge
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management
- Value driven and values working in a team environment
- A passion for people and building strong networks
