**About the School**:
Laidley State High School is a mid-sized rural high school located in the growing Lockyer Valley. Our committed and capable staff work hard to support the full range of students to succeed with their educational goals and their transition to post school employment and/or tertiary studies. A school culture based on proactive and responsive support, positive school community partnerships and the celebration of success has resulted in our school enjoying the support of our school community.
This year curriculum leaders and teachers have focussed on the implementation of the Australian Curriculum (V9.0) and the redevelopment of our whole school approach to pedagogy as required within the P-12 Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework (CARF). This work has been underpinned by number of research-based frameworks including the New Art and Science of Teaching (NASOT), Caroline Blackley's Four Dimensions and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
**About the Role**:
As a instructional leader, you will play a key leadership role within the school's curriculum and pedagogy teams and work closely with faculty HODs and the Head of Special Education to build the capability of teachers and teacher aides across all faculties and career phases. You will support teachers and leaders to enact whole school curriculum and pedagogy practices with precision. You will measure the success of key initiatives, promote a culture of collaborative learning, showcase quality teaching and learning by and with staff and celebrate improvements in student engagement and learning. This is a school funded position that reflects the school's improvement priorities.
Responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
