**The Role**:
This role is a senior management role in the Australian operation and is responsible for all aspects of the technical delivery and performance of the O&M Services, in addition to pre-COD, Safety & Quality control, Design Engineer & Performance Engineering services.
Working actively with the Country Manager, and Commercial Manager, this role is a working management position which supports and provides direction to the team which reports up to this role.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to Operational excellence within Plant operations; monitoring and control center functions and the management of key technical matters which can affect contracts and projects we are engaged with.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure Safety is Central to every function and activity.
- Daily management & oversight of performance from the Field Teams & Plant Managers.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop PV Technicians in the performance of maintenance tasks
- Responsible to ensure operations aligned with all ISO Certification & Safety programs; ensuring that safety and compliance are central to all activities.
- Manage and direct the monitoring and controlling to the highest level of safety, health and environmental standards while achieving maximum production and profitability.
- Updating & development of technical documents, policies & procedures.
- Managing the Planning and Scheduling of site maintenance activities, Mobilization coordination for new projects, SCADA support, HV support processes, procedures and best practices are adhered to in the conduct of business
- Oversight of the Scheduling & Planning works; ensuring best industry practice is applied; and works are executed in with warranty and service contract commitments/requirements.
- In cooperation with Commercial Manager’s team conduct regular customer meetings to review plant performance, work progress and work backlog
- Align with Commercial Management team, to ensure alignment with Contractual requirements
- Proven and extensive experience in an operational role within the utility power industry.
- Demonstrated experience with grid operators; network service providers & AEMO.
- Demonstrated understanding of PV and renewable energy power plant, EH&S compliance, management, operations, and maintenance.
- Deep understanding of best practice operations & maintenance methodology.
- Abilities to deep dive into technical issues including root cause investigations.
- Experience managing O&M Contractors
- Reliable, Organized and team focused.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the customer’s success.
- Ability to share technical expertise with team members and the customer.
- Ability and willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills and contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and best practices
- Ability and willingness to undertake travel if required
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written in English.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Relevant Safety Certifications (white card)
- Valid First Aid & Low Voltage Rescue Trained
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) desirable.
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**
**Responsible for**:
- Review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Familiar with operating contracts (O&M Agreement, Power Purchase Agreement, Connection Agreement), operating protocols, transmission and scheduling entity operating handbooks, operating agreements, and any standards or regulations applicable to the generator operator / generator owner.
