Fiscal Group aims to achieve sound and effective fiscal outcomes. It is focused both on short term and emerging priorities, as well as deep, systemic, and structural policy issues. The Group delivers core government functions, such as producing the Budget and Intergenerational Report. Making timely and accurate payments to the states and territories.
At the same time, it develops and delivers high‑quality advice on government spending arrangements, policies and regulations that reflect a whole‑of‑economy perspective, promote the interests of Australians and focus on the shape of the Australian Government in the economy and society more broadly.
Treasury is recruiting EL2 Directors to fill various vacancies in multiple Divisions in Fiscal Group. Opportunities exist in the following divisions:
- Social Policy Division,
- Commonwealth-State and Population Division, and
- Budget Policy Division.
**Desirable Qualifications/Experience**
To be a Director (EL2) you must possess the following key skills and experience to apply:
- Experience leading teams, with a proactive, innovative and inclusive leadership style.
- Strong strategic thinking with an ability to influence outcomes and drive delivery.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
- Experience in the ability to build productive relationships.
- 7 or more years relevant experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, or public policy.
