Our Federal Government client is seeking a
**EL2 Section Manager** who can provide expert and timely advice to the executive cohort and represent the client at external forums.

**About the role**:

- Lead and manag the client recruitment function including entry level programs, ensuring it is aligned to the client Workforce Strategy and Plan, and is contemporary, efficient and fit for purpose to support the client's diversity targets.
- Oversee the implementation of an automated recruitment system for the client which is aligned to legislative requirements and meets stakeholder expectations.
- Lead and manage the client work health and safety function to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulations and safe work practices; providing advice, assistance and an expert consultancy service with an emphasis on employee wellbeing.
- Lead the implementation of initiatives identified in the client diversity and inclusion strategy including events within the diversity calendar, improving client's cultural competence and supporting our Diversity Champions and employee diversity networks.
- Manage strategic HR project delivery for the Branch and assisting as required with whole of Branch projects
- Maintain up to date information and data in order to prepare and contribute to corporate reports, workforce dashboards and other business activities that inform decision making processes of the CEO and Senior Executives and relevant Governance Committees.
- Lead and manage the section including assessing staff capability, developing, coaching and mentoring staff, providing timely and constructive feedback and managing performance.
- Lead and exemplify workplace safety, diversity and inclusivity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and acting in accordance with the client’s Values and Code of Conduct.

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of generalist HR delivery and provision of high-level advice on a range of operational people services, processes and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contemporary recruitment policy, practice and procedures and a comprehensive understanding of the relationship with workforce planning and strategy.
- Contemporary understanding of workplace issues and relevant legislation in a public-sector
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing all aspects of WHS, including risk management, incident management, policy and program development.
- Exceptional communication including the ability to influence and manage relationships with
- senior executives and a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high level stakeholder engagement skills, including excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, with an ability to prepare high quality written materials, and maintain, influence, and grow productive working relationships at all levels.
- Proven track record of delivering programs and initiatives, and the ability to manage competing demands particularly in the areas for which the position is responsible.

**Desirable**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a human resource management or similar (desirable).
