SEED Lifespan, an eminent Strategic Research Centre, is hosted in the School of Psychology within the Faculty of Health. We focus on the developmental and intergenerational factors that contribute to healthy social, cognitive and emotional development of children, adolescence, young adults and across the full lifespan. We bring together lifecourse, clinical and public health research and practice to:

- describe the major lifespan milestones in development
- identify the most effective approaches to preventing problems
- and engage government, education and health systems for translating this knowledge into policy and practice.

**About the role**:
As the Research Translation and Impact Officer, you will be responsible for the coordination of a range of research translation and policy impact activities, providing support to the SEED Lifespan Executive team as well as staff within the Strategic Research Centre. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to assist with the day-to-day operation of the Centre, and the pursuit of its research mission.

Using your expertise in Health Science and understanding of translation impact of psychological/health research, you will support the Centre in translating research findings and systematic review papers into actionable materials that can be used by external stakeholders, governments and communities, whilst ensuring compliance with University guidelines and processes.

As a **Research Translation and Impact Officer**, you will:

- Create and develop content to assist in translating the research of the Centre to external stakeholders to pursue the objective of raising the profile of the Centre to a global stage. This includes supporting our Translation group to ensure findings are published, promoted and transformed where possible, into tools and products accessible to the wider community.
- Work directly with our Faculty and Deakin Central teams to support the development and implementation of the SEED Lifespan Strategic and Communications plans, including updates and expansion of online and social media presence.
- Assist in coordinating the Centre’s activities to ensure effective and efficient operation, including fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Work with the SEED team to provide administrative, grants and communications support to the SEED Lifespan academic staff cohort and assist in coordinating major initiatives and events for the Centre.
- Support regular suite of reporting, including policy impact metrics and ensuring that grants and publications data is accurate and accessible, and organisational reporting is provided on time to the relevant areas of the University and/or staff within SEED Lifespan.
- Maintain positive working relationships with School of Psychology professional team, Deakin central services and teams, the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Faculty of Health, and other University stakeholders.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline for example Health Promotion, Public Health, Behavioural Sciences and/ or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Demonstrated experience in research translation and policy impact activities (Desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in supporting research activities and reporting on data and metrics, with a commitment to service excellence.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and accurate manner that is appropriate for the intended audience.
