We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Law.
**About the role**:
The Faculty of Business and Law is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creating and social development and fostering cutting-edge research and discovery. The Deakin Law School places great emphasis on research that makes a difference and is focused. We work closely with industry partners and the government to put findings into practice.
Deakin Law school is looking to appoint a developing, ongoing scholar. Scholars working in all fields of legal teaching and research are welcome to apply, with expertise in the following fields being particularly welcome: Property Law; Contract Law; Evidence; Criminal Law; Family Law; Environmental Law and Workplace Law.
**As an Associate Lecturer in Law, you will**:
***Develop effective learning materials and activities as part of a design team or with guidance from the Unit Chair and demonstrate awareness of ongoing innovation in curriculum design.
- Deliver effective teaching practices within unit and suggest approaches to innovate teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
- Maintain appropriate discipline knowledge and constructively review and refine own teaching practice to help maintain teaching quality standards.
- Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities at the unit level. Adapt learning material and practices to support diverse learners.
***To be successful, you’ll have**:
- This position may require the incumbent to travel domestically and/or internationally to attend conferences, events and to represent the university.
- This position requires the incumbent to hold a current Working with children Check
- This position requires the incumbent to hold a current National Police Record Check (if applicable)
- PhD in Law or another relevant discipline
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
