**Role Details**

The role is responsible for:

- Ensuring the financial integrity and governance of the SWRB SA, overseeing all financial functions and maintaining robust governance practices.
- Collaborating with the Principal Project Officer to finalise the set-up of the finance function, defining key finance tasks and responsibilities within the current team.
- Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and the prompt resolution of any audit findings or recommendations.
- Serving as a key advisor to the Board, Office and the Finance and Audit Committee.
- Proactively identifying, assessing and mitigating financial risks.

**About You**

We are looking for a finance expert with significant experience in managing a variety of accounting functions and the ability to lead budgeting processes.

To be successful you will have a thorough understanding of taxation, insurance and relevant financial policies and procedures, along with expertise in general ledger accounting.

Demonstrated knowledge of government financial systems and processes, with the ability to adapt these systems to a new regulatory environment is ideal.

The Social Workers Registration Board of South Australia (SWRB SA) is the regulatory authority responsible for the registration of social workers. The purpose of the SWRB SA is to establish and maintain a comprehensive registration and regulatory framework that ensures the competence, professionalism, and ethical conduct of social workers in South Australia.

The primary functions of the SWRB SA are to safeguard the public by ensuring that social workers entering the register are competent, fit to practice, and accountable for their professional conduct. We also strive to elevate the professionalism of social workers, promoting excellence in practice and continuous improvement.
