We are inviting applications for multiple Senior Financial Accountants to join the Financial Accounting team within Department of Treasury & Finance. The vacancies are being offeredfor a period up to 24 months and are available across various sites including Adelaide CBD and Port Adelaide.

Remuneration:ASO6 ($98,478 - $104,165 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation

About the Role

This Senior Financial Accountant role offers a unique opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality accounting and financial management services across SA Government agencies.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare general and special purpose financial statements, including audit liaison.
  • Manage reconciliations, general ledger, fixed asset and other accounting services.
  • Provide expert financial advice, compliance support, and contribute to improvement projects.
  • Foster a positive team culture and provide guidance to staff in delivering effective accounting and financial services
  • Ensure services meet legislative, performance, and accounting standards.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and motivated financial professional with a strong track record in delivering high-quality accounting services and leading teams in complex environments.

You will thrive here if you have:

  • A Degree in accounting, finance, economics (or equivalent) and eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body. (Desirable)
  • Extensive experience in preparing Tier 1 financial statements, managing complex reconciliations and reporting functions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Advanced analytical skills and a knack for solving complex financial problems.
  • Proven ability in driving financial management and reporting process improvements.
  • Experience using financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Masterpiece) and Excel for modelling and reporting.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, compliance, and service excellence.
