The SPACE tribe provides secure, predictable, and re-usable technology platforms to enable our many and varied product delivery teams, giving them helpful, leading-edge tech so that they can concentrate on bringing the right functionality to our consumers and customers at the right time. This role is with the Production Platform squad who are responsible for building and maintaining a new Production as a Service product to enable a fast, consistent delivery platform to the rest of the REA development community. As a Delivery Lead you will be responsible for the delivery and ongoing maintenance of product development projects using agile methods within collaborative, cross-disciplinary teams. You will take the lead at the inception phase to ensure that the project is scoped, planned and resourced appropriately. You’ll take care of the day-to-day operation of several initiatives, managing iterations and project schedules, managing scope, alignment the team to priorities, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged, managing risks, issues, and coordinating releases. You will join the leadership team for your area and be jointly accountable for the health, happiness and performance of your team. You will contribute positively to your team’s culture, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and help to build and maintain a high-performing, collaborative team. In addition, you may have direct line management responsibility for up to eight team members who will require you to coach them, identify skill gaps, establish career development plans and conduct performance reviews. - End to end delivery of multiple product initiatives using agile methods in cross-disciplinary teams. - Project scoping and planning. - Managing iterations, scope, priorities, stakeholders, risks, issues and timelines. - Tracking & reporting project progress to stakeholders - Designing and optimising efficient and effective delivery practices in the team. - Building happy and productive teams. - Contributing to the leadership team of your area. - Project cost reporting for your team or initiatives - Line-management and mentoring of up to 8 team members. - Contributing to the Delivery Lead community of practice for REA Group. Who we’re looking for - Agile software delivery and related concepts. - Written and verbal communication. - Leadership, coordination, motivational, negotiation and dispute resolution. - Line-managing and mentoring people. - Some understanding of web technologies and distributed systems. - 1-2 years of experience leading technology projects using agile methodologies. - Technical experience in software development projects as a developer, business analyst or similar is nice to have, but not essential.
