**The Client and Role**:
We are currently working with a major financial services organisation; they currently have a requirement for a Product Owner to join their unsecured lending division on a market changing project. Initially offered as a 12-month contract the role has a strong likelihood of extensions following the project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for development of requirements into epics, features, user stories and dependencies in collaboration with the squads that aligns with business requirements across multiple complex environments.
- Make day to day decisions to enable development team to move quickly through product iterations.
- Ensure the Delivery and Development teams understand the value of each user story that is being delivered at the right time.
- Own and manage squad backlog and prioritise tasks in line with roadmap.
- Involved in the roadmap planning, release planning, execution, review of each sprint, realising impact, value and focus on the right priorities.
- Work collaboratively with the squad to deliver backlog efficiently.
- Communicate priorities and outcomes with key stakeholders.
- Attend all relevant ceremonies.
- Leaders at all levels will be expected to ensure their teams are clear, capable and motivated.
- Be capable with the right talent, time, tools and skills to do their work, with leaders expected to manage resources (people, budgets, assets) and coach teams to build competence and confidence.

**Required Skills & Specialisms**:

- Tertiary qualifications in technology of finance
- Shaping and delivery experience within complex environments
- Develops and maintains a broad perspective; understands and considers issues in the context of overall market, customer, and business strategies
- Strong planning capabilities
- Extensive analysis capabilities
- Workshop and facilitation skills
- A strong technical background and an in-depth understanding of Financial Products and Domains (operations, processes, end users, customers, regulations).
- Creativity and simplifying complex processes and issues, problem solving and process analysis.
- Extensive experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with HCD techniques.
- Ability to communicate a product vision to key stakeholders and teams, developing it into a shaped backlog of key features, user stories and goals for individual sprints
- Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops, in a co-located cross functional business and IT team through the discovery, development and operational usage stages of product development
- Ability to innovate, adapt and grasp new skills and content
- Ability to work closely with key stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships whilst sometimes saying no
- Proven analytical skills and evidence-based decision making
- 4+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Business Analyst
