Job description

Reporting to the Business Manager at Play Retail and the VM Specialist (our client), you will be tasked with delivering the wholesale visual merchandising program on behalf of our client's brand through leading our national team of visual merchandising ‘Athletes’.

Key responsibilities will include:

- A typical week include days spent in the field, merchandising, and building relationships with key account holder stores across Melbourne and setting direction for the wider team. Time will also be shared at our client's HQ in Mulgrave connecting, building, and maintaining relationships while working closely with the VM Manager on VM direction
- You will engage, lead, coach and develop a team of 8 visual merchandising ‘Athletes’ across Australia and New Zealand
- Provide constructive “real time” feedback on field VM visits, ensuring compliance on VM standards through weekly photo reviews
- Providing direction and feedback to ensure that POS campaigns and signage is executed across key account stores
- You will be working with PowerPoint and InDesign to create the VM directives to ensure execution across key account holders meets brand standards
- Build and maintain solid relationships with counterparts in Merchandise, Marketing, Retail across our client's Australia and New Zealand network
- Onboard all new team members and continue to provide training, knowledge, and support for existing team members
- All workforce planning, recruitment, coaching and performance management of team to ensure workforce to support the program
- Complete all rosters and leave management for your workforce
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in 3 stripe sporting Group, Play Retail and Fusion Group and wholesale partner stores
- You will be closely supported by the Play Retail leadership team and as a key stakeholder, contributing to the overall success of our positive culture and business

About You
- You must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a comparable VM Team Lead/Management role across multi-site retail
- Demonstrable VM skills, you understand the WHY behind visual merchandising, not just the principles and visual but a solid understanding of the commercial factors that drive VM
- Experience working in VM across wholesale retail, large format is a bonus
- Sound experience creating VM directives, using PowerPoint and InDesign programs
- Proven leadership skills - You will be a people person, you engage your team, you motivate and guide them to success
- Proven client or customer facing experience - You will be able to be client facing and build positive and profitable relationships with key account holders
- Competent and digitally savvy, you will be working with digital software programs that drive our VM program and client service
- Adaptable and flexible
- A positive, professional, and proactive person who will be able to contribute to the Play Retail culture while representing our company to the highest standard
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe Photoshop and Indesign
- Relevant tertiary qualifications - desirable however not essential
- Driver’s License and reliable car
- You must be suitably located for regular travel to the 3-stripe sporting company in Mulgrave and to stores across Melbourne
