This exciting opportunity supports the Director, SES Unit and Talent in leading the strategic design, development and implementation of corporate learning needs across the department. The successful applicant will lead a dynamic newly established team responsible to provide talent and capability opportunities for DCCEEW employees enabling a sustainable, thriving and skilled workforce. The team is responsible for short format training courses, talent management, leadership and capability development, events, studies assistance, high value development, scholarships, awards and recognition, induction and administration of the Learning Management System.
**Who we are**
The Operations Division consists of the Communication and Media Branch, the People Strategy, Safety and Wellbeing Branch and the Capability and Employment Branch. The division ensures the department has a strong and well-supported workforce with the capability and capacity to deliver on the Government’s climate change and energy agenda and protect Australia’s environment and water resources.
The Talent and Capability team is responsible for providing our people with corporate learning, development and talent management services to ensure a high-performance workforce for the department. We do this by managing the department’s learning and development programs and providing specialised learning advice through the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of corporate learning products and solutions. We hold an integral role in assisting the Branch Head and Chief Operating Officer with strategic HR and over-the-horizon scanning to identify and understand capability needs now and into the future.
**The Job**
- Design, implement and evaluate engaging and fit for purpose department wide talent and capability initiatives, programs, frameworks and policies.
- Lead a dynamic team, including managing workflow, resources, coaching and development of team members.
- Manage reporting and evaluation to support continuous improvement and address capability gaps.
- Prepare high level written briefs and reports.
- Provide expert and timely advice, complex problem solving and issues management for stakeholders.
- Provide effective and efficient talent and capability resource management, including financial and contract management.
- Develop and deliver innovative solutions and creative internal communications that promote engagement and support building a high performing and capable workforce.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the department to facilitate delivery of targeted talent and capability programs.
