**The Role**
The Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) is a safety net scheme of last resort that provides financial assistance to eligible employees for unpaid employment entitlements when they have lost their job due to the liquidation or bankruptcy of their employer.

Reporting to the Director of Claims Assessment Team 1, you will lead a team in a high demand service environment, to assess claims for financial assistance made by employees who are owed employment entitlements after losing their jobs due to insolvency. You will be responsible for ensuring the necessary processes and practices are in place to meet forecasted demand. You will use program data and reporting to strategically manage the team’s workflow to provide FEG claimants with timely outcomes that are of a high quality.

As part of working in a large, complex program you will have exposure to all aspects of program administration including quality assurance processes. You will further develop your leadership and management skills through leading a large team in assessing claims and preparing accurate, high quality and timely decision reports. You will work collaboratively with others across the branch to identify learning and capability needs and assist with the development of appropriate training and resources to drive high performance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include:

- Working collaboratively, as part of the Branch leadership, to deliver business outcomes and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Demonstrating positive leadership and managing a team of claim assessors to ensure they have the support and capabilities to meet their role and responsibilities.
- Setting direction of work priorities, allocating work and analysing and measuring team performance, using feedback, data and workflow reporting and analysis to deliver program priorities in order to meet program KPIs.
- Confidently engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engendering constructive engagement in quality assurance processes and outcomes, encouraging high performance and proactively engaging appropriately and constructively with individual and team performance.
- Contributing to program governance and developing solutions for identified risks and challenges.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by leading, managing and implementing opportunities to improve and refine policies and processes.
