**About the Company**

We are seeking multiple experienced Category Manager to join a large NSW government organisation based in Parramatta. This is a 12 month contract paying up to $900 per day + super.

**About the Role**

We are currently seeking to appoint a Category Manager. This position is responsible to develop, deploy and manage category strategies, and lead strategic sourcing activities that ensure value for money, appropriate levels of service and compliance with procedures and professional best practice.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Proactively partner with the business to understand medium to long term strategic plans, major project pipeline and operational requirements in order to develop and implement Corporation Wide category and contract strategies to effectively manage the risk of externally sourced goods and services, develop alternate sources of supply, drive commercial benefit and develop the supplier base.
- Lead the development implementation and monitoring of category management plans for defined categories, including but not limited to spend analysis, opportunity identification, global/national/local supply market analysis, alliances/panel/partnerships relationships and sourcing strategies.
- In collaboration with business, develop and implement advanced commercial partnership models for program of delivery, and monitor value realisation and supplier relationships.
- Working with sourcing specialists develop and implement sourcing strategies based on market analysis and business requirements to deliver the best value for money outcomes that meets or exceeds the business strategic and operational needs.
- Guide and oversee the end to end strategic sourcing process including task brief, option / hypothesis development and testing, procurement strategy development, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation of commercial and contractual terms, contract formulation and award. The sourcing process is to be managed by sourcing specialists.
- Collaborate with the business, lead the development and maintenance of relationships with key suppliers, acting as prime commercial contract management lead on strategic contracts and partnering with strategic suppliers to identify areas of improvement and to drive innovative solutions and ways of working with the department.
- Assess suppliers’ capability, including safety, environmental and quality accreditations; categorise suppliers within market segments and determine supplier risk scoring in accordance with the supplier, risk management and procurement frameworks.
- Working with the contract managers and in line with the business’ Contract Management framework, oversee contract lifecycle management for major contracts including leading periodic pricing reviews, re-negotiation of contract terms, establishing KPIs, scheduled performance and contract reviews, contract variations, the management and resolution of supplier performance matters and incidents, and the preparation of contract documentation with legal counsel.
- With the support of the procurement operations team, track and report benefits and saving outcomes based on implemented sourcing strategies.
- Contribute to the development of strategic sourcing and procurement frameworks, policies methodology & analytic tools.
- Provide guidance and advice to the business on procurement, sourcing, and contract management processes, systems, procedures and templates.

**About You**
- Expertise-defined Category Management and value delivery knowledge.
- Experience in developing and implementing advanced commercial partnership models for large program of construction delivery.
- Demonstrated experience of successfully supporting large construction program of work.
- Commercial analysis and pricing strategy development for Construction and related goods & services.
