Category Manager - indirects

Do you have a passion for procurement and a knack for navigating complex supply chains? We're seeking a Category Manager to join our team West of the City. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in non-ICT indirect categories, managing everything from unique one-off procurements to crucial contract renewals.

About the Role

As a Category Manager, you'll be a key partner to our internal stakeholders, responsible for planning, developing, and managing procurement arrangements that align with business objectives. You'll contribute to category management plans, analyze market needs, and lead sourcing activities to ensure we get the best possible outcomes.

You'll also:

  • Provide expert guidance and governance to internal teams, helping to build procurement knowledge across the organisation.
  • Develop and manage contracts, negotiate changes, and handle supplier performance to enhance results.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate procurement risks to support business opportunities.

This isn't just about process-it's about influence. You'll need to be inquisitive and confident, ready to guide superiors and work with a diverse range of stakeholders to encourage innovative engagement with third-party providers.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong knowledge of procurement policies alongside:

  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in procurement and contract management.
  • The ability to act with integrity and model the highest ethical standards.
  • Adept skills in communication, negotiation, and building collaborative relationships.
  • A strong commitment to customer service, understanding stakeholder needs and implementing solutions.
