**Eligibility**
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care
applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made
- An applicant’s suitability for employment with Health will also be assessed through a
variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
- Satisfactory completion of an Australian Federal Police criminal history check,
and where relevant a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check.
- Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where

- Providing evidence of qualifications.
**Division Responsibilities**
The Financial Management Division (FMD) provides support to the Department of Health
and Aged Care through a range of financial and budget management services and advice,
property and asset management, and other corporate services, including shared services for
the health portfolio.
**Branch Responsibilities**
The Financial Business Support Branch provides corporate finance and enabling services to
the department to support its policy and programme priorities. We provide customer
- focussed finance support to the business and people of the Department of Health and Aged
Care and its portfolio agencies.
**Section Responsibilities**
Finance Business Partners (FBPs) support clients in their decision-making through tailored
strategic financial advice. FBPs combine technical expertise from the Corporate Operations
Group with in-depth business insights gained from partnering with line areas to provide
complete business solutions.
FBP sections are responsible for the preparation of monthly management reports; co
- ordination of financial and budget reports; and quality assuring financial information
contained in other reports and briefs. We also provide information that supports the
preparation of the annual financial statements, the annual report and budget statements.***
**Key Responsibilities**
FBPs at the APS6 level are expected, under limited direction, to:
- Assist with providing strategic and operational financial advice to Group
management and to the CFO.
- Assist with the delivery of timely, accurate and value-add advice across a range of
funding sources.
- Work with stakeholders to link financial activities to their business plans and
priorities.
- Assist with the development of opportunities to improve services to clients and
corporate stakeholders.
- Provide financial information and advice to support the preparation of statutory
reporting obligations, briefs, and audit activities.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships and collaborate with
stakeholders to assist in achieving the department's outcomes and deliver on our
strategic priorities.
- Assist with providing financial performance information against agreed metrics with
supporting value-add commentary.***
FBPs at the APS5 level are expected, under limited direction, to:
- Assist with providing strategic and operational financial advice to Group
management and to the CFO.

- Work with their Line Manager to assist with the linking of financial activities to
stakeholders business plans and priorities.
- Assist their Line Manager with the development of opportunities to improve services
to clients and corporate stakeholders.
- Assist their Line Manager in providing financial information and advice to support
the preparation of statutory reporting obligations, briefs, and audit activities.
- Help to build and maintain professional working relationships and collaborate with
stakeholders to assist in achieving the department's outcomes and deliver on our
strategic priorities.
