**Eligibility**
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care

**Division Responsibilities**

The Portfolio Strategies Division delivers outcomes across the portfolio, supporting the

design and implementation of health policies, programs and infrastructure to improve the

health and wellbeing of all Australians. We work across the department to bring a whole of

system perspective to health and ageing -both internally and externally. We work to

influence and align activities across the Department that have strategic implications for the

health system and new initiatives that require a flexible and delivery-focused approach.

**Branch Responsibilities**

The International Strategies Branch drives the Australian Government's engagement in

multilateral, regional and bilateral international fora to influence global and domestic health

outcomes and secure our national interests, to improve the health and wellbeing of all

Australians.

The Branch has a leadership role in international engagement on health and, in turn,

supports the Department in its leadership in key international health fora, ensuring that our

efforts contribute to domestic health policy priorities and support Australia’s international

interests. From negotiating a possible new international treaty on pandemic preparedness

and response, driving our engagement in the World Health Organization (WHO), G20, OECD

and Human Rights Council, to working directly with countries in our Indo Pacific region and

across the globe, ISB offers diverse and interesting work which will develop and grow your

skills, networks and career.

**Section Responsibilities**

There are currently vacancies across several sections and individual placement will be

determined upon completion of the process. ISB’s sections include:

**Key Responsibilities**

Responsibilities of successful applicants will include a mix of:

- Undertaking research, preparing advice, analysis and/or technical expertise on areas

of policy and program activities.***
- Preparing a range of high-quality written materials, including briefing, strategic

correspondence, reviews and reports, presentations and minutes.***
- Building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external

stakeholders at all levels.***
- Monitoring, managing, and delivering projects and supporting others to deliver

outcomes through the provision of guidance, quality assurance and technical

expertise.
- Supporting senior staff to represent the Australian Government, the Department

and Division on whole-of-portfolio issues.***
