The key responsibilities of the APS 6 ICT Contract Management Officer are:

- Deliver concurrent contract and vendor management activities for ICT related professional services, labour hire, hardware, software, and sourcing activities in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs),
- Provide accurate and timely advice on ICT related contract matters, in accordance with the relevant legislation and the CPRs,
- Prepare a range of correspondence, including corporate documentation, department briefs, contracts and variations to contracts, and other procurement related documentation review and/or draft a broad range of contract documentation,
- Develop reference materials including templates, intranet pages, and guidelines,
- Assist in monitoring the management of contract activities, as well as the maintenance of records in the SAP Finance system and Electronic Document Management System (TRIM),
- Oversees and measures the fulfilment of contractual obligations.
- Identifies where changes are required, evaluates the impact, and advises stakeholders about the implications and consequences. Negotiates variations and seeks appropriate authorisation.
- Contribute to external and internal change management processes with respect to service improvement,
- Work in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines, improve processes and achieve business area goals.
