**About The Role**
We're currently looking for an Assistant Business Controller. Someone to join our Finance team to deliver Controlling and Financial priorities. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed. And someone who doesn't mind the occasional bit of sustainable travel in the service of a cleaner form of electric performance.
This position is in Sydney, Australia. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a key member of the Commercial Controlling team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities and operational tasks within the local market. Collaborating closely with the Polestar Asia Pacific and Global Teams, you will play a pivotal role in optimising sustainable growth through operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with department heads and HQ teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Month End Close coordination: Oversee and coordinate month end close activities with both local and shared service teams
- Financial Statement Review: Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting by reviewing monthly financial statements
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with accounting standards, taxation regulations, and other statutory requirements
- Process Improvement: Assist the Head of Commercial Controlling with process improvements, internal controls and other key topics
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform Additional duties as assigned to support the team and organisational goals.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Finance with CPA or CA qualification
- More than 8 years of relevant experience in Finance roles, preferably within the automotive industry
- Ability to think strategically with strong business acumen and commercial awareness
- Proficiency in working effectively within a matrix organisation with international exposure
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Capability to employ creative analysis for driving business improvements
