**About the Role**:
Engagement and Wellbeing provides a range of evidenced informed and culturally responsive policy and procedures, programs and strategies, services, funding and advice within schools and preschools and contributes to delivering optimal conditions for student learning. The Aboriginal Cultural Lead will work across Engagement and Wellbeing leading advice, consultation, policy and practice to drive outcomes for our Aboriginal children and young people and their families.

The Aboriginal Cultural Lead will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure Aboriginal students are central to the design and delivery of culturally responsive policy, practice and broad work of Engagement and Wellbeing. This will include engaging with relevant local Aboriginal community members in South Australia, the departments Aboriginal Education directorate and being an active member of the Support and Inclusion Aboriginal leaders group and to support culturally responsive practice and building the cultural capability of the Engagement and Wellbeing directorate.

The role requires Aboriginal expertise, cultural knowledge and life experience.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: Relevant experience in policy and practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

**Desirable**: Cert IV or higher education qualification in education, human or community services, or equivalent experience. Leadership and management training.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO8 $121,107 - 125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
