About the role
The Business Improvement function has been established to identify and address opportunities to improve existing processes and systems, with the aim of reducing administration burden for our schools, preschools and corporate business units.
ASO7- Business Improvement Consultant
The Business Improvement Consultant is responsible for identifying business improvement opportunities and coordinating a variety of small and medium-scale projects and reform initiatives, to meet the needs of schools, preschools and corporate business units. Utilising human-centered design approaches, the Business Improvement Consultant undertakes process redesign and implementation, internal consulting and advisory projects, such as detailed review and analysis of existing systems and processes, and recommending strategies for improvement or replacement of systems.
ASO8- Business Improvement Specialist
The Business Improvement Specialist is responsible for managing a variety of projects and initiatives, leading multi-disciplinary teams from across the department to meet the needs of schools preschools and corporate business units. Utilising human-centred design approaches, the Business Improvement Specialist undertakes service design, process redesign and implementation, internal consulting and advisory projects, and develops and recommends strategies for major improvement initiatives and opportunities, following through to implementation.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil
Desirable: IIBA CCBA certification or similar, qualifications in Lean/Six Sigma or similar, Project Management Qualifications.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO7 $108, ,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
ASO8 $121, ,679 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
