As our dedicated** Category Manager/Procurement** professional supporting the Major Services & Shutdown category, you will have full autonomy and accountability for developing the source to procure strategy for this category. You will also be crucial stakeholder in making sure this category has clear alignment with the broader business plan.

Using strong influencing skills you will operationalise the strategy by drawing on best practice outcomes and extensive stakeholder engagement to deliver a fit for purpose solution that delivers value, assess and mitigates risk and develops long-term and successful relationships with all stakeholders. Cement Australia has a number of major facilities located throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia with our two (2) primary operational sites being Gladstone, QLD and Railton, TAS who undertake major shutdowns annually.

You will use your understanding of the production process to obtain, influence, optimise value, drive change and improve value and minimise risk of contracted services for all of our sites.

As a genuine relationship manager, you will actively engage with your stakeholders to understand and support their operational requirements, participate throughout the shutdown planning process through the source to contract lifecycle, including market sounding, development of RFx, assessment of risk and evaluation of market offers, negotiation, recommendation, award and commercial contract management (including performance management).

Your intuitive and detailed understanding of major service and shutdowns in manufacturing operations and the impact on production will ensure that you are able to deliver the full, time-sensitive outcome required, and drive the best practice sourcing strategy to deliver value at an acceptable and understood risk profile.

This is a senior role within the procurement team for a driven, results focused and creative self-starter who is looking for an agile work environment to embed their footprint and make a significant contribution to our team.

**About the role**:
As a **Procurement Category Manager (Major Contracts & Shutdowns)**, your role at a high level will be to:

- Develop, plan, negotiate and execute category plans with input from the key stakeholders with the support of cross-functional teams for the Major Services and Shutdowns category including but not limited to mechanical and electrical engineering, refractory, wastes, labour hire, scaffolding, equipment hire and production related services
- Plan and lead supplier negotiations for key high risk/value comparison and secure contracts within required timeframes, & communicate strategies, plans, progress and performance to relevant stakeholders throughout all stages of the process
- Engage and build key relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective change management and implementation of contracts
- Develop and implement supplier KPI’s and performance measurement tools and monitor performance include regular reviews of risk profile and mitigation startieges.
- Lead and ensure implementation of compliance to SHEQMS standards, ensuring all supplier contracts contain relevant SHEQMS clauses.
- Liaise with Legal to ensure effective sourcing agreements are in place with all key suppliers
- Leading and also participating in additional projects as considered relevant to skills and category as required from time to time
- Provide commercial advice and support to site as required
- Provide escalation point resolution between site and or contractors as required

**About you**:

- You will have demonstrated experience in category management / procurement (major shutdown/maintenance) or related role dealing with major services, highly regarded if you have manufacturing/plant operations experience
- A solid understanding of the production process, ideally obtained in a site based environment
- You are a strategic, analytical thinker, proactive, who is flexible and driven with an outcomes focus
- An individual who can build solid trusting relationships with all stakeholders and your team, you will be known for your strengths in influencing, negotiating and supplier/contract management.
- Ability to work independently, execute business negotiations and decisions as required, with a high level or corporate maturity and confidence to proactively action situations as they arise
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the labour and skills market and supply chain interdependencies across the board, securing sustainable relationships with a “win-win” approach.
- Demonstrated experience in understanding and presenting data on costs, value, financial analysis on all aspects of the process, from planning - budget versus spend, through to completion, including risk assessments.
- A strong knowledge and willingness to learn business contract law fundamentals and best practice for our business
- Intermediate to expert use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
