**The opportunity**
The ‘Trend & Forecasting Specialist’ is responsible for interpreting trends, market landscape, social listening and customer insights to lead and facilitate responsive product, experience and execution opportunities that drive competitive advantage improving brand advocacy and customer measures (eg. VOC new/on trend).

**Key responsibilities will include**
- Synthesise all research through the lens of our customer, BIG W brand identity, supported by data and insights to ensure trends are translated with broad commercial appeal.
- Partner internally and externally to interpret trends, market landscape, social listening and customer insights across Apparel Home and General Merchandise.
- Showcase trend presentations to teams across the business via engaging presentation techniques.
- Support our product development designers & buyers to translate trend direction into range decisions with confidence.
- Seasonal colour forecast, facilitating colour workshops and curating commercial palettes to support seasonal direction.
- Build team engagement with the support of the communications team, in videos talking about upcoming trends.
- Deliver to multiple timelines, while ensuring stakeholders are engaged appropriately throughout the process.

**About you**

You orient yourself around doing what’s meaningful, and purposeful and delivers value. You’re excited about being part of a business transformation and being a disruptor on one of Australia’s biggest stages.

**In addition, you will be**
- Trend and forecasting experience in, fashion or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position
- Retail background ideal
- Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite
- Formal qualifications in a creative discipline
