**The role**
- Implement strategies that maximise a profitable operation and minimise costs wherever possible
- Identify and implement business improvement activities within Domestic Transport, ensuring relevant KPI’s are achieved.
- Analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilisation, route optimisation and subcontractor management
- Conducts domestic transport scheduling and supply against network plan and local operations
- Schedule and coordinate all daily logístical requirements for the company, ensuring deliveries arrive on time, damage free and all applicable documentation is complete
- Work with transport contractors to ensure safe, efficient and on-time services in line with agreed SLAs
- Establish, monitor and audit all safety and operating procedures for truck drivers and all staff involved in the loading and unloading of trucks
- Respond quickly to all arising situations where customer service levels may have, or have already been affected
- Work with stakeholders to ensure transport related disputes are resolved in a timely manner
- Supports delivery to the Transport KPI’s, working directly between DC’s and Transport suppliers
- Monitor fuel levy fluctuations and ensure carrier rates and budget allocations are reviewed and adjusted accordingly

**About you**
- Previous management experience in a transport business or supply chain or logistics
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong and sound decision making in high pressure situations
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in consistently delivering results
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite
