**About the role**:
John Holland's rail and transport team are currently looking to speak to Construction Directors with demonstrated experience of delivering major and complex rail projects ($1 billion +)

The primary purpose of the role is to manage all delivery activities on a major project during bid and delivery phases of construction.

**Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Lead delivery activities on a major $ 1billion + rail projects
- Lead team of construction & commissioning project managers, engineers, supervisors, workforce & subcontractors
- Delivery of the assets to safety, cost, schedule, quality requirements
- Exhibit outstanding leadership in health, safety, environmental and risk management, compliance and auditing
- Establish delivery strategy to maximise advantage in bid and to successfully deliver the project
- Lead the interface with other contractors in delivery of the project
- Understand and be able to lead a team delivering complex rail systems projects from design phase to delivery into service, including commissioning and system integration activities
- Ensure legislative, pre-contract, head contract and commercial obligations are met
- Monitor performance of subordinates to ensure high standards of performance across the delivery team
- Provide constructability leadership and input into design activities
- Establish and lead subcontracting strategy, procurement and management
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures

**What we are looking for**:

- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a tier one contractor
- Management of multidisciplinary rail systems projects and project teams
- Major project experience ($1 billion +)
- Management of delivery activities in all phases - design, construction, commissioning, integration
- Underground tunnel fitout experience
- Contractual, legal, commercial experience on major projects
- Industrial relations and legislative compliance management
- Advanced Project Management, client/ stakeholder and leadership skills
- Experience in Design & Construct, Alliance, ITC and PPP type contracts
