The Store Construction Director leads the ANZ store development team who oversee and coordinate all aspects of construction projects under the EssilorLuxottica banner, from inception to completion. This includes effectively planning, organizing and controlling the work of the Store Development department for refurbishments, new builds, or fit-outs for Sunglass Hut, Ray Ban, Oakley, OPSM, Laubman & Pank stores and offices across Australia and New Zealand.

This role involves travel within Australia as well as overseas travel to New Zealand, some of the travel requires staying overnight for more than one night.

Requirementsfor Success

- Manage the Store Development team including project management, project planning, facilities and coordination of all activities
- Ensure all project budgets and estimations are based on the approved architectural drawings and documentation
- Reviewing actual construction spends against forecasted amounts
- Reviewing tender documentation and awarding building contracts
- Ensure capital allocations and approved budgets are adhered to and deliver all projects on time and in line with approved limits
- Coordination of required building permits, inspections, and certificates
- Coordination of all planning reports internally and for our corporate headquarters
- Project Manage all communication to store teams, external vendors, operations team, and site-specific stakeholders throughout fit out process
- Attending builder handovers and defect inspections and ensuring all defects identified are closed out within allocated timeframes
- Read & review detailed drawings, understand construction plans and fabrication methods
- Organize and coordinate deliveries of project materials and furnishings
- Partner closely with our Senior Design Manager and Real Estate Director on all store and office related projects
- Ensure our Repairs & Maintenance Facilities area of the business deliver prompt repairs to our stores to avoid any disruption to trade

Skills & Experience

- 5-10 years’ experience in a senior project management leadership position ideally within the Retail Industry
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Ability to make decisions, independently and in line with our company policy
- Pro-actively seeks continuous improvement methods
- Previous use of SAP highly regarded, strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and functions simultaneously
- Stays informed of industry trends competition and changing technology, putting new knowledge, understanding and skills to use of the job
