**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**Purpose of the Role**

The Business Development Specialist-Uni & Industry Relationships plays a key part in the acquisition of new customers through our University and Industry partnerships. It is a combined national business development and relationship management role which is 60% focused on lead nurture of law students currently at university, and 40% of new customer acquisition through sponsorships and key industry partnerships.

**Key Accountabilities**

The Business Development Specialist-Uni & Industry Relationships will be responsible for the following areas and key accountabilities:
**New PLT student acquisition**
- In conjunction with the Marketing and Customer Engagement teams, you’ll contribute to the development of the national PLT marketing and sales strategy.
- Implement a tiered university engagement strategy and accompanying ROI metrics:

- Develop strong relationships with student law societies nationally in line with national marketing and sales strategies
- Negotiate and implement all law student society sponsorships and manage relationships in accordance with those agreements
- Identify which law societies offer the most ROI for marketing and promotional activities
- Attend/ host relevant events for agreed Tier 1 universities, as required, or manage state-based College representation.
- Identify relevant leads and make outbound calls to achieving lead conversion targets

**Post Graduate Customer acquisition**
- In conjunction with the Senior Marketing Manager, Post Graduate develop the Go-to-Market strategy is focused on industry relationships and the sponsorship platform to support the growth of post graduate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) markets.
- Focus on new business development opportunities, growing the territory through sales of all College programs, with a focus on Professional Education and CPD

**Graduate Community Development**
- Work with the College Connect Community Manager to support development of the College’s graduate community on College Connect and offline

**Teamwork and stakeholder Management**
- Actively contribute to an externally focused, customer centric approach
- Develop a co-operative way of working to best utilise the support of the Sales Operations Specialist
- Actively participate and support the budget development process.

**About you**

**Education/Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or law

***Inherent Role Requirement**
- Interstate travel is an inherent requirement of the role

**Experience, Skills and Attributes**
- Experience in business development and account management preferably in a legal and/or educational environment, including B2B and B2C
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets, manage lead pipelines, achieve conversion KPIs, and grow territories
- Demonstrated ability to achieve B2C sales targets through industry partnerships and sponsorships
- Experienced in customer onboarding and customer success metrics
- Ability to develop operational and sales plans in accordance with pre-approved budgets, focusing on high-value business development activity
- Understanding of the legal industry and the legal education environment
- Ability to engage with senior members of the legal industry
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative customer-focused solutions
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, prioritise and execute multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel, CRM and SMS
- Ability to use, draw and manipulate data from multiple sources to make data-driven decisions
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Highly developed attention to detail
