We are currently recruiting for a WHS Officer for large civil construction company located in Canberra

**The Role**

As the WHS Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with relevant WHS laws, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees. You will:

- Provide high quality, responsive WHS advice and support to staff and contractors.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimise workplace hazards and risks.
- Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures.
- Provide advice and guidance on WHS matters to managers and employees
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents and develop strategies to prevent their recurrence.
- Provide training and education to employees on WHS issues.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and standards.

**Your Background and Experience**

Desirable skill:

- Cert IV WH&S / Diploma in WH&S or working towards completing qualification
- A current and unrestricted drivers licence as this role requires regular travel
- Competent PC skills
- Ability to work in a team setting and autonomously
- Ability to produce written reports when required
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
